School Health

Florida Department of Health in Levy County

School Health Program

Each school in Levy County has a health clinic and a full time school health aide available to provide first aid and administration of medication for your child.   Each school in Levy County has a registered nurse assigned to a school to provide oversight to the school health aides and to provide health counseling and referrals as indicated.   The registered nurse also completes a health care plan for all students with special health care needs such as asthma and diabetes. The nurse is the professional who ensures that the school health program provides a safe and healthy environment for children to learn.

All students in Levy County schools including charter and church schools are eligible for basic school health services; this includes screenings and health and weight measurements.
